The route starts on the right of the Longeagne road. It goes through the housing lots of Longeagne and Serre Jouglard, and ends up on a country lane at the foot of the Sugar Loaf. If you turn to your right, you will be able to bypass the Sugar Loaf and get to the top of it. From there, you can look at the Queyras valley and its mountainside overrun by the forest in the northeast, whilst the Bourg of Guillestre with its hayfields, orchards and few vines stretches at the south-west. If you do not wish to go up to the Sugar Loaf, turn left at the junction. The trail, which is marked in yellow, follows the edge of the Guillestre plateau. In front of you, the hamlet of Gros overhangs at an altitude of about 1.400 m. You can hear the growling of the Guil coming from the bottom of the gorges. Then, the path goes down between the cliff and the coniferous woods by a rather large rock track. Once you have reached the little Simoust road, the track goes up to left to the top of the plateau. From there, take the "Masks Street" path immediately on the right that goes down along the cliff. The path goes through two imposing and impressive rock masses, giving a peculiar atmosphere to the site. The path runs alongside the rock face without real difficulties. You will descend rather quickly to the bottom of the gorges by taking a few narrow and steep bends, and will walk alongside the foot of the plateau of Guillestre. Opposite on the right, you will see the stronghold of Mont-Dauphin; on the left, you will see the waterfall where the irrigation canal comes to an end. The track branches off to the left and goes up to the plateau. Follow the country lane, which takes you back to the centre of Guillestre by the "Route des Chapelles".
