Departure : Risoul Station → Arrival : Risoul Station

This circuit leads you from the Risoul resort to the ridges of Martinat. The trail can be technique at times: it has a succession of lengthy uphill slopes and rather steep descents with several passages along the ridges. However, your efforts will not be in vain: you will have a mind-blowing view of the valley of the Durance, St Clément sur Durance and the Serre-Ponçon lake.

Go towards the Pré du Laus make. After two hairpin bends, take the trail on the left. It goes into the larch forest and gets steeper for a few bends. You will walk into a more open area and gradually overhang the resort. There, you will catch sight of spotted nutcrackers flying from dell to dell, and taking breaks on the treetops. Then, the trail goes down to reach a larger path under the draglift that goes up to the panoramic viewpoint of the Stone Man. The trail goes back to, and follows, the Ridges of Martinat. Further ahead, you will see the valley of the Durance as far as the Serre-Ponçon lake, the town of Embrun and also the district of Châteauroux-les-Alpes. You will gradually go down along the ridge in the forest to get to a hut with a picnic area. You can go back to the resort by the dirt path that goes past the small Pré du Laus lake.
