Departure : Base Eau Vive → Arrival : Base Eau Vive

This itinerary follows ledges with a few more technical passages.

The circuit starts at the water sports base in Saint-Clement-sur-Durance. Once you have gone under the railroad, take the first road to the right at the entrance of the village of Saint-Clément-sur-Durance that climbs slighty and at the first junction, fork to the left towards the village. The route goes above the church and the tower and starts to climb. The tarmacked road then becomes an earth track that goes straight on at the first hairpin bend to the left. A stony path through the vines leads to the D638 then we continues upwards on the tarmac. After a few hamlets (le Fournet, les Bruns) you will arrive at Font Bonne. Note that it is possible to get to Pinfol directly by the road up to the left and continuing straight on. Go through the hamlet of La Bourgea. Further on, at the junction, take the road to the left that leads up to Truchet and Mikéou. After the chalets in Mikéou, take the GR50 that leaves to the left and leads up to Pinfol. It then continues down the valley of Le Couleau. When you reach the crossing with the Culeau forestry track, fork to the left and further on to the right onto the path below that leads to the Saint-Clément-sur-Durance watchtower and the start point.

On the way...
Chapel of St. Roch

St Roch Chapel - built in the 18th century and renovated since – is built in the hamlet of Truchet from where there is an exceptional view of the Durance. St Roch was a very popular Saint in the Hautes-Alpes and was frequently invoked during epidemics, particularly of the plague.
