From the Alp hut, the itinerary goes from dell to dell and covers a quite significant distance. It is quite easy up to the bottom of the Tête de Vautisse but then the ascension starts, with a much shorter but more difficult distance. The first part of the itinerary goes up the dell, from one side to the other alongside the banks of the Alp stream, on grasslands with many rocks here and there. On the left, the ridges of the Prenetz stand tall. The trail goes up the black lands to the dell of the Selle. Here, the trail goes over scree and leads to the foot of the Tête de Vautisse. There are two possible ways: you go the right following a straight trail up along the mountainside, that then reaches flat ground and ends in bends. You can also take to the left where the trail is more difficult as it is made of lots of rather steep bends needing constant effort. From the summit at 3.156 m, you can observe a large part of the alpine mountain range with the Mont Blanc, the Mont Viso... You can also see the town of Briançon and its surroundings, as well as the village of Ceillac, isolated in the Queyras valley. You can go back to the starting point on the same itinerary.
You can add a visit to the lake of Laus to the ordinary itinerary, hidden behind the ridge of the Prenetz, in a beautiful site with few visitors.

The start of the Tête de Vautise trail is located at the Alp hut. To get there, drive through the village of Réotier and continue to a place called "les Bruns" and head towards the Bourgea on the right until you reach Mikéou. Follow the tarmacked road that becomes the pastoral road of the Alp and takes you to the hut after a 30-min drive on the trail. CAUTION: for the last part, your car must be able to be suitable for off-road conditions.
